Biscoe + Stanton Architects were appointed by contractor Lovell to carry out the detailed design and construction information of a Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios design. The first phase of the development comprises 71 new build 1, 2 and 3 bedroom flats, maisonettes and houses, on the site of an existing local authority housing estate. The units are to all be used for decants from the remainder of the estate which will allow the remaining 234 units to be built for open market sale in phases 2 + 3.

The buildings are composed of a small pallet of materials, these being, brickwork, feature contrasting banding, aluminium windows and metal balustrades to pre-cast concrete cantilevered balconies. The blocks are predominantly constructed using a light buff brick, a high quality, durable and affordable material which responds sympathetically to the properties in the adjacent area. To complement the brickwork tones, aluminium frames, copings, soffits and flashings are implemented in a slightly darker tone to add interest and contrast. Full height windows are used throughout. The length of the blocks is further articulated with expressed brickwork piers, which generally express the accommodation module. The brickwork between each pier may be further defined through recessing vertical brickwork panels, bonding and mortar jointing to add interest along the length of the elevation.

Construction commenced in early 2016 and is due to be completed in 2018.
